Reports to: R&D Local Unit Lead
Your Responsibilities
- Own the challenge and take on the journey
- Demonstrate technical knowledge in Software Design for embedded systems
- Provide advanced technical judgement, covering multiple disciplines that influences team activities and results
- Solve complex technical problems by creating own hypotheses and validating them
- Design and deliver mission-critical software systems for process automation or similar fields
What It Takes to Run What Runs the World
- Major in computer science, electronics engineering or related; master/doctor degree is a plus
- 10+ years of professional experience
- Familiar with all phases of product lifecycle, from inception to support
- Very good communication skills
- Able to speak and write confidently in English for international audiences, using clear, structured and precise arguments, able to adjust abstraction level to intended audience
- Architecture knowledge on medium/large scale system, with various embedded products distributed geographically
- Master communication technology and network cyber security, such as Ethernet based standards, network security, to support flexible future product integration into the system
- Able to design products and system with reliability and availability, such as redundancy solution design
- Knowledge of ABB DCS/PLC product is a plus
- Better to have experience with external standards and regulations, e.g. IEC 62443 and their application in internal processes
- Must be a team player
