  • This role is contributing to the Motion Business for System Drive Division in Nelamangala
  • Bangalore India

Your Role and Responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to ABB's success with technology, software, product, and system development. Each day, you will identify and implement innovative solutions to relevant problems. You will also showcase your expertise by providing ideas and by being able to work both independently and as a part of a Research & Development (R&D) team.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Full technical ownership of the product
  • Taking ownership of the product line in the factory with respect to all technical issues (factory failure, production tester issues), coordinating with the product manager for any known issue and planning for the action to resolve the same
  • Involvement in new developmental activities relevant to converter design
  • Knowledge and prior hands on experience in the PCBA design
  • Analyzing any failure for the reason for failure and creating a detailed report for the same, with analysis done up to the level of the circuit component
  • Direct coordination with the global support team for any further analysis
  • Creating root cause analysis for every failure and updating the same in the global failure data
  • Knowledge of IEC, UL and CE standards pertaining to low voltages drives
  • Monitoring the failure rate of the owned product and checking warranty details to understand the failure
  • Technical ownership of all localization activities
  • Evaluation of the local material supplied by local suppliers with global products against global guidelines
  • Testing of the local component and reporting for the same
  • Maintaining the R&D laboratory Analysis lab with high safety standards and managing all equipment calibration and maintenance

Qualifications for the Role (Mandatory)

Skill Set:

  • Variable frequency drive expert knowledge
  • PCBA design

Qualification:

  • BE – Electrical and Electronics or Electronics and Communication or M-Tech – Power Electronics or Control System or Drives

Year of experience:

  • 6 to 7 years for BE
  • 4 to 5 years with M-Tech
