This Position reports to:

Manager, Drive Shop & Service Projects

Your role and responsibilities

Lead technician responsible for Low Voltage (LV) drive repairs & workshop operations. Ensure operational excellence and customer satisfaction.

The work model for the role is: on site

This role is contributing to the ABB MOSE in Canada.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Execution

  • Performs troubleshooting, repair, assembly, and testing of AC drives
  • Executes first-time-right approach with full compliance to quality standards
  • Conducts component-level repairs
  • Conducts testing of the repaired drive
  • Completes reporting and updates drive database

Leadership & Planning

  • Prioritizes and schedules daily workshop orders to optimize efficiency and meet deadlines
  • Manages inventory of spare parts, materials, and equipment; ensures stock levels and part availability
  • Leads workshop maintenance program - schedules preventive maintenance, manages equipment calibration, ensures ESD compliance
  • Mentors junior technicians - provides training, reviews quality, develops team capabilities

Safety & Compliance

  • Ensures 100% adherence to HSE policies, safety procedures
  • Reports unsafe practices; maintains housekeeping standards
  • Conducts safety briefings and drives safety culture

Quality & Continuous Improvement

  • Identifies and resolves quality/reliability issues
  • Proactively proposes process improvements and drives implementation
  • Maintains accurate documentation and service records

Qualifications for the role

  • Minimum 8-10 years of hands-on electrical troubleshooting repair and testing experience preferably in workshop/manufacturing environment
  • Proven experience with low-voltage AC drive systems (ACS series preferred)
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical/mechanical system
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Technical certification in electrical/mechanical trades
  • Valid driver's license
  • Advanced troubleshooting with multimeters, oscilloscopes, power testing equipment
  • Component-level repair experience
  • Knowledge of diagnostic tools and drive testing software
  • Familiarity with SAP or inventory management systems
  • Ability to lift up to 25 kg regularly
  • Work in controlled workshop environment with ESD protocol
  • Prior Experience with ABB LV Drives repairs and SAP experience (assets)

While base salary is determined by things such as the successful applicant’s qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay between $73,275 and $107,470 annually. This position is a replacement of a current role.
