This role sits within ABB's Robotics business, a leading global robotics company. We're entering an exciting new chapter as we've announced the plan for Soft Bank Group to acquire ABB Robotics. Soft Bank is a globally recognized technology group and investor/operator focused on AI, robotics, and next-generation computing. Reports to: R&D Team Lead
Work model: Onsite
Responsibilities
- Participate in the research and development of industrial robots, with a focus on structural simulation and performance optimization, conducting quasi-static and dynamic strength analyses of structures
- Support new product development by providing FEA-based decision-making support throughout the entire cycle, from conceptual design to prototype validation
- Perform FEA-based reproduction and root cause analysis of failures occurring during product development and after-sales, providing structural problem-solving solutions
- Prepare technical documentation such as standardized FEA analysis reports, and contribute to technical knowledge accumulation and standardization
Qualifications
- Master's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanics, Aerospace, or related technical disciplines
- Proficient in finite element analysis software (e.g., Ansys) with solid knowledge of core mechanical theories: Structural Mechanics, Material Mechanics, Vibration Theory, and Elastoplastic Analysis
- Familiar with engineering material properties, and experienced in implementing static and contact nonlinear analyses, modal/transient dynamic analyses, and fatigue life assessment (S-N/E-N methods)
- Strong learning ability, communication skills, and resilience under pressure
- Proficient in using computer office software and fluent in spoken English
