About the Team
The Controls Engineering team at ZF Santa Rosa provides critical technical support to production operations by ensuring the reliability and continuous improvement of electronic systems across manufacturing lines. The department works closely with Operations, AME, HSE, and Quality to maintain optimal line availability and compliance with IATF, ISO, and security standards. You will join a highly committed group focused on rapid problem‑solving, zero‑defect culture, and supporting new product launches.
What you can look forward to as Controls Engineer Beckhoff:

Provide technical support to production lines, resolving electronic and automation‑related failures.

Attend and diagnose ANDON system alerts, including sequence debugging, test equipment performance, and HMI/PLC‑based devices.
-
Perform root‑cause analysis for issues impacting line availability (3x5, changeover, downtime).
-
Implement process improvements and engineering changes to assembly and inspection processes.
-
Develop and modify programs for PLCs, HMIs, inspection devices, and electrical integration solutions.
-
Back up programs and equipment configurations to ensure proper storage and disaster‑recovery readiness.
-
Support new product launches and engineering changes, including review of programming for new production lines.
-
Provide technical feedback to the AME team on automation functionality and improvement opportunities.
Your Profile as Controls Engineer Beckhoff:
-
Degree in Automation, Electronics, or Mechatronics Engineering.
-
Minimum 2 years of experience in Controls Engineering.
-
Knowledge of PLCs (Beckhoff, Allen-Bradley), HMI, electrical integration, test systems, and automation troubleshooting.
-
Ability to perform root‑cause analysis and implement sustainable corrective actions.
-
Experience supporting production environments in high‑volume manufacturing.
-
Conversational English level.
-
High commitment, decision‑making agility, and availability for flexible schedules.
-
Compliance with standards for Quality (IATF), Environmental Management (ISO 14001), Safety (ISO 45001), and security frameworks (C‑TPAT, OEA).
