Your New Role...

CNN Digital Products & Services’ intern on the Programming team will report to the Senior Editor/Producer, Programming, curating CNN's core on-platform surfaces, writing and sending push alerts, testing headlines, and using creativity in content packaging, with editorial judgment being first and foremost. You'll help drive audience engagement, learn how breaking news situations are handled, understand how lede stories are chosen, explore the role of data, finetune your ability to write headlines and other homepage language, and have a front row seat to seeing how these decisions affect the way millions of people experience news.

Your Role Accountabilities...

  • Engage with CNN's core on-platform surfaces, demonstrating stellar news judgment Initiate creative feed organization, using CNN's content library of videos, articles, photo galleries

  • Recognize programming and audience needs proactively and collaborate with senior team members to contribute ideas for content strategies

  • Interact with stakeholders to share and receive feedback on initiatives and day-to-day programming

  • Participate in post-mortems and strategic conversations to enhance programming

  • Monitor audience data and optimize content through AB testing headlines and other approaches

  • Work through breaking news situations and collaborate with writers in shaping alerts

Qualifications/Experience

  • Currently pursuing an Undergraduate or Masters degree.

  • Strong passion in journalism and and keen to develop strong editorial judgment skills in a fast-paced newsroom setting.

  • Candidates are required to commit for a minimum duration of 3 months, starting from May/June 2026.

  • Candidates must have the right of abode in Hong Kong or hold a valid student visa and No Objection Letter (NOL) from the Hong Kong Immigration Department.
