Your New Role...

The video desk is composed of a team of writers and editors that are always on the lookout for newsmaking clips and compelling visual storytelling to feature on the cnn.com website, linear television, digital videos and more. We work closely with other teams to bring multiplatform coverage on both US and international news priorities.

Your Roles & Responsibilities...

The Intern, Planning Producer will work with our Planning and TV show teams to book newsmakers and business leaders for on-air interviews.

The successful candidate should display strong editorial judgment and have an interest in global current affairs. They should communicate effectively with different teams in the newsroom, being a truly multiplatform team player. The candidate will develop a swift, calm and coordinated response to breaking news.

The Intern, Planning Producer will learn to make the necessary arrangements for the guests including pre-interview notes, travel and broadcast logistics. They will learn about the technical aspects of broadcast news including how to book studios, coordinate with in-house and freelance crews, and work with satellite providers to arrange for interviewees.

Qualifications/Experience

• Currently pursuing an Undergradute or Masters degree.

• Strong passion in journaliasm and and keen to develop strong editorial judgment skills in a fast-paced newsroom setting.

• Candidates are required to commit for a minimum duration of 3 months, starting from May/June 2026.

• Candidates must have the right of abode in Hong Kong or hold a valid student visa and No Objection Letter (NOL) from the Hong Kong Immigration Department.
