Core Responsibilities

1. Hires, evaluates, and supervises crew. Provides guidance and training as necessary to develop crew. Sets performance standards, reviews performance, and makes informed compensation decisions in accordance with all applicable Human Resources policies and procedures.

2. Leads a team in providing risk guidance, oversight, and assurance services to enterprise and partners aligned to the Vanguard's operational and strategic risk framework. Develops and implements departmental goals. Plans and allocates resources to execute daily operations and departmental initiatives.

3. Oversees and leads the development, maintenance and distribution of the Operational Risk Management Framework and Methodology for global divisional stakeholders. Ensures the divisional risk tools align with the global risk policy and allow for efficient risk monitoring, identification and reporting. Designs, develops and maintains key criteria for regular monitoring and reporting on operational risk trends to measure the effectiveness of the operational risk framework.

5. Influences divisional risk leaders and senior risk mangers to operate within the Operational Risk Framework. Demonstrates thought leadership and strong subject matter expertise, and provides direction to allow divisional key concerns to align with the risk framework and governance committees.

6. Provides support and guidance to drive short and long term objectives.

7. Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of eight years related work experience. Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Graduate degree preferred.
  • Professional Certification (CPA, CIA, CISI, MBA) preferred
