Job overview and responsibilities

United’s PSS-team is responsible for developing and maintaining Passenger Service System (PSS), which is the heart of any airline and runs mission-critical and highly complex modules such as Schedule, Inventory, Reservations (PNRs and Tickets), and the Day-of-Departure customer processes! Our team is building new PSS system using the latest digital technologies and digital infrastructure to provide our customer the best digital experience in the industry. 
You as a Senior UX Designer UX will lead efforts to design and define interactions which will engage our internal users as well as customers. At the core, you will collaborate closely with Product Managers, Design teams, and Frontend Engineers to translate modern, intuitive, and accessible designs into high-quality digital experiences. This role requires a strong foundation in visual design, interaction design, and frontend development, with a deep understanding of airline workflows, digital travel journeys, and enterprise-scale design systems.
 

 

•    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define product requirements and design solutions that meet user needs
•    Create wireframes, prototypes, storyboards, screen flows and high-fidelity designs that communicate your vision and demonstrate your design thinking
•    Conduct research through competitive analysis and personas to gain design insights, and usability testing to validate your designs identifying areas for improvement
•    Work closely with development teams to ensure designs are implemented to the highest standards and for accessibility success
•    Use data and analytics to measure the effectiveness of your designs and iterate to improve results
•    Design sophisticated UI visuals from concept to execution and present to PSS leadership
•    Effectively communicate status, issues, and risks in a precise and timely manner
•    Communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of employees and management, speaks and writes clearly
 

 

This position is offered on local terms and conditions.  Expatriate assignments and sponsorship for employment visas, even on a time-limited visa status, will not be awarded. This position is for

Qualifications

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

 

•    Bachelor's degree in BA/BS, Computer science, Engineering, MBA or equivalent proven work experience required or related field.
•    5+ years of experience in product design, with a focus on digital products and services
•    4+ years of experience in creating wireframes, mock-ups, clickable prototypes as well as visual design components
•    3+ years of experience in design tools such as Sketch, Figma, and Adobe Creative Suite
•    Experience in designing for complex user workflows, UI Grids, Responsive web design and Interactions
•    Good understanding of Front-End development technologies React.js, JavaScript, CSS, Redux   
•    Experience in designing the AI-Human interaction component 
•    Strong visual design fundamentals (color, typography, layout, spacing)
•    Good understanding of WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) standards
•    Design experience for both web and mobile
•    High attention to detail but able to work quickly to meet deadlines.
•    Maintain a user-centered approach in design perspective and practice.
•    Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
•    Must be fluent in English (written and spoken).
