Job overview and responsibilities

We are seeking a high-impact Project Manager to join our Digital Technology and Passenger Service System (PSS) PMO. This role is a strategic driver for our application modernization journey, transitioning legacy systems into scalable, resilient, and event-driven cloud-native applications. You will oversee high-stakes projects that leverage modern architectural patterns to ensure high availability for our critical passenger services. You will set-up the processes, teams and communication structures for this program. Beyond traditional tracking, you will orchestrate complex deliveries by exploring and utilizing AI-DLC tools, streamlining CI/CD pipelines and managing intricate cross-domain dependencies to ensure rapid, reliable, and secure software delivery.

• Program governance: Develop a detailed program governance plan to set-up the best practices, streamline existing processes, implement AI-DLC in application development and monitor, track and report program progress at regular interval.

• Planning & Monitoring: Develop detailed project plans to monitor and track progress, specifically analyzing the successful completion of short and long-term goals. Collaborate with US based PMO team on planning and prioritizing the projects.

• Cross-Domain Scope & Dependency Management: Systematically map and manage complex technical and functional interdependencies across various business domains; coordinate integrated timelines and release schedules across shared services and platform teams to eliminate bottlenecks and ensure synchronized delivery.

• Release Governance: Manage the complexities of frequent production releases or migration in a highly available environment, ensuring zero-downtime deployments and robust rollback strategies.

• Risk & RAID Management: Proactively identify technical debt and risks related to data consistency in event-driven systems; maintain rigorous RAID logs to protect project timelines.

• Strategic Reporting: Provide senior leadership with data-driven insights into project health, focusing on DORA metrics (Deployment Frequency, Lead Time for Changes, MTTR, and Change Failure Rate).

• Scope & Budget Management: Assist in defining project scope and objectives involving all relevant stakeholders; manage changes to project scope, schedule, and costs using appropriate verification techniques.

• Resource Management: Ensure resource availability and allocation to maintain technical feasibility.

• Execution & Coordination: Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.

• Financial Analysis: Meet budgetary objectives and adjust project constraints based on financial analysis.

• Documentation: Develop spreadsheets, diagrams, and process maps to document project needs and progress.

Qualifications

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

 

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems or any related field
• 12+ years of overall experience

Project Manager:

• 8+ years direct work experience in a program/project management capacity for Cloud-Native Application Development and Modernization, including all aspects of process development and execution
• Successful program management of multiple medium-large size project(s) with overall team size of 40+ (direct or matrix) and/or a budget of >$1M
• 1+ years of experience in exploring and adapting to the AI-DLC process – Automation and AI-enthusiast
• 3+ years of experience as application developer (any language/tool)
•  Proven excellence in managing the change, setting up teams and processes.
• Demonstrated advanced knowledge of managing projects using a Project Management Life Cycle and creating lifecycle deliverables including detailed project, risk, and issue plans to ensure project goals are accomplished
• Demonstrated advanced use of AzureDevOps(ADO)/JIRA, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office suit Visio, and PPM
• Team Player: working well in a collaborative setting. Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, business stakeholders, teammates, and vendors
• Strong written and oral communication skills to appropriate levels within the sponsoring business areas
• Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities

Scrum Master:

• 4+ years of experience as a Scrum Master, Product Owner or Agile Coach
• Deep understanding of common Agile practices and better product envisioning and development practices 
• Able to lead and demonstrate value-add principles to a team in a collaborative way and influence employees at all levels 
• Experience working on mixed methodology program (Scrum interfacing with Waterfall from a dependency perspective)
• Experience in creating training materials and sharing knowledge at different levels
• Outstanding presentation and communication record (conference presentation, professional community events)
• Assertive - Ensure Agile/Scrum concepts and principles are adhered to, be a voice of reason and authority, make the tough calls and manage conflicts 
• Continuous Improvement - Continually honing one’s craft, learning new tools and techniques to manage oneself and a team 

Managing with Metrics:

• Able to help leaders & teams define clear metrics and coach them to have a data driven approach for decision making 
• Willing and able to quickly gain a high-level understanding of the technical and business domains of the Scrum teams 
• Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

•    Business Administration education in addition to the Bachelors in Technical    
•    PMP Certification preferred
•    CSM/CSPO Certification or PMI-ACP preferred    
•    Experience working at a Fortune 500 company
•    Experience working at a International location other than home country
•    Azure Devops, TFS and MS Planner experience is a plus
•    Airline Industry experience is highly preferred
