Job Description:

As TJX Australia continues to grow, we’re seeking a Store Design Manager to play a key role within our Property Team. You’ll be central to the design function, leading workflow, partnering with designers and consultants, and keeping projects moving from concept to construction. This is a fast‑paced, hands‑on role for someone who thrives working in the grey, balancing priorities and meeting compressed project schedules

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Own and manage the end‑to‑end design workflow ensuring milestones are met.
  • Lead and coordinate a small internal Team and external consultants
  • Manage FDA, tender and construction drawings, ensuring compliance with the relevant FER, Building Code of Australia and PCA requirements.
  • Managing design documentation information flow with all key external vendors and consultants required to complete tender documents.
  • Oversee the drawing sign‑off process, working closely with Property, Retail Design, Construction, and key internal business stakeholders.
  • Drive the PCA authority review and approval process, including documentation updates and resubmission.
  • Maintain and manage the Key Dates Planner keeping the business aligned and on track.
  • Act as a key stakeholder across the organisation, partnering with Store Operations, Marketing, IT, Loss Prevention and external vendors.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Experience in an in‑house retail design or similar environment.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple design and documentation streams simultaneously.
  • Strong knowledge of PCA processes, Fire Engineering, the Building Code of Australia, and compliance requirements.
  • Min 5 years -Experience working with AutoCAD, Revit or other 2D/3D design software. (proficient in Revit software)
  • Emerging people leadership capability, with confidence guiding designers and consultants.
  • A collaborative, adaptable mindset and confidence engaging with senior stakeholders.
