Responsibilities:

The centralized Testing team for Tik Tok provides support for multiple service component value chains. In this role, team members have the opportunity to validate, automate, develop and manage the complex challenges of scale with your expertise in large-scale systems.

Candidates who pass resume evaluation will be invited to participate in Tik Tok's technical online assessment through Code Signal.

Responsibilities:

1. Own the entire system testing process, including but not limited to: analysis, design, executing test plans and cases, and conducting defect tracking.
2. Work closely with developers, product and program managers to test and validate new features and define the testing protocol.
3. Analyze the root cause of defects and help with investigation and solution.
4. Implement test tools and collaborate with automation/performance test teams to build up internal tools/frameworks/platforms to make the team more productive.
5. Provide cross functional test support for other team members.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field
• Familiar with Java/Python/Objective-C/Golang, experience in related project development
• Strong knowledge of software design, operating systems and networking
• Problem solving with algorithms and data structures
• Basic knowledge of testing methodology and tools

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience testing mobile apps on Android and iOS platforms
• Familiar with Redis, NSQ, Zero-MQ, Kafka, Docker, K8s, Hive, Spark
• Experience programmatically testing products, measuring test coverage, developing the best automation, driving testability and promoting best practices in quality areas
• Cross-functional collaboration skills, with a track record of working effectively with development engineering and other functions
• Superior analytical skills, including strong ability to identify and solve ambiguous problems

For Pay Transparency Compensation Description (annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $93480 - $142800 annually.

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.

Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year and 17 days of Paid Personal Time (prorated upon hire with increasing accruals by tenure).
