Position Summary

The Senior Director, Commercial Leader, Analytical Instruments Group (AIG), Korea, is a key leadership role reporting directly to the VP/General Manager of Korea. This position leads the commercial teams across multiple business divisions within AIG, including the Chromatography & Mass Spectrometry Division (CMD), Chemical Analysis Division (CAD), and Instrument and Enterprise Services (IES). This role is pivotal in driving organizational growth through the One Thermo Fisher value proposition, not only within AIG but also across other divisions and groups such as the Materials & Structural Analysis Division (MSD), Life Sciences Solutions Group (LSG), Lab Products Group (LPG), and Bio Production Group (BPG) in Korea. The Senior Director provides strategic leadership to division commercial leaders, empowering teams to achieve exceptional outcomes and drive overall business growth.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key member of the Thermo Fisher Scientific Korea Leadership Team (KLT), developing and implementing AIG Korea's Strategic Plan (STRAP) and Annual Operating Plan (AOP), while representing the group and divisions at the country level
  • Establish and manage group-level goals and KPIs for AIG Korea (excluding MSD), overseeing division-level performance of CMD, CAD, and IES Korea, and managing the Industry Key Account Management (KAM) team
  • Spearhead Korea's commercial strategy and execution at the group level
  • Drive execution of strategic initiatives within and across divisions
  • Orchestrate country and group-level Go-To-Market (GTM) synergies in focused market segments, with emphasis on key account management
  • Foster collaboration with other groups to leverage company-level opportunities, initiatives, and synergies through the One Thermo Fisher Value Proposition
  • Elevate group-level commercial excellence, channel management, business development, and marketing resources and processes in close collaboration with Country Business Development, Country Key Accounts Management, and Country Channel Management teams
  • Identify key market trends and implement rapid business responses
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with senior leaders of key customers and stakeholders
  • Provide coaching to the Divisions' commercial leaders on key business decisions, talent management, and development
  • Lead talent management and development initiatives, including performance management of Division commercial leaders
  • Optimize organizational structure at the group and division-level to drive performance, engagement, and development
  • Collaborate with Division leaders to build and enhance the talent pipeline for this position and Division leader roles

Requirements

Experience

  • Minimum of 20 years in the industrial sector, with a strong background in relevant market segments

Leadership

  • At least 10 years in a senior leadership role with a commercial focus, demonstrating exceptional executive presence and outstanding people leadership skills

Management Skills

  • Proven track record in leading multiple functions or businesses, with the ability to guide, influence, and inspire diverse teams

Relationship Building

  • Exceptional ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with C-level executives, key customers, and internal stakeholders

Adaptability

  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in diverse business cultures and champion Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives
