A DAY IN THE LIFE:
A team member contributing to the design, development, testing, and documentation of electronic components and circuits in the Company’s medical devices and associated test systems.
Electrical Engineering Interns at Tandem are also responsible for:
- Under supervision, assists in the research and development of electronic components, printed circuit boards (PCBA), and electrical systems for the Company’s medical devices and associated test systems, utilizing knowledge of electronics theory as well as that gained through experience in electronics design.
- Under supervision, assists in planning, designing, development, testing, and design reviews of electronic and electrical systems for the Company’s medical devices and associated test systems, including PCBAs, batteries, and LCD displays, among other components.
- Under supervision, utilizes test equipment to conduct experimental tests, evaluate electronic designs, and perform design verification. Creates test reports to document work results.
- Assists with selection of electronic components and equipment with supervisor feedback, including detailed analysis of specifications and reliability.
- Embraces the Design Review process by participating in design reviews and maintaining design history files.
- Participates in evaluating the reliability of materials, properties and techniques used in production.
- Confirms completion of required training plan before assuming job responsibilities.
- Ensures work is performed in compliance with company policies including Privacy/HIPAA and other regulatory, legal, and safety requirements.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
WHEN & WHERE YOU’LL WORK: Onsite:
This position is fully onsite and open to candidates located in San Diego, California. Equipment for the role will be provided and training will occur onsite.
Schedule:
This position will work Monday - Friday from
8: 00 AM - 5:00 PMPST.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED: Knowledge, skills & abilities:
- Experienced with MS Office applications including Word and Excel.
- Basic proficiency with common electrical test equipment, e.g., DMM, oscilloscope, function generator, DC power supply.
- Able to present information in a clear manner within the department.
- Able to contribute on a consistent basis to team initiatives in a thorough and timely manner.
- Able to work effectively in a team environment.
Minimum certifications/educational level:
- Working towards a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field or equivalent combination of education and applicable job experience.
Minimum experience:
- Internship in a related environment is valuable.
COMPENSATION:
The starting base pay range for this position is $30.00 - $36.00 per hour. Base pay will vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and may also fluctuate depending on candidate’s location and the overall job market.
Please note that is a temporary position. As a temporary employee you will be employed through a staff agency partner. Benefits during your temporary assignment may be provided by the staffing agency. Access to Tandem sponsored benefits is contingent upon conversion from temporary to regular full-time status. Conversion is determined based upon business need and job performance.
