About You :

• You are an experienced product design leader with 10+ years of experience designing and delivering high quality SaaS products at scale. You have led and grown product design teams and understand how to operate effectively in complex, cross functional, and globally distributed environments.

• You set a clear and uncompromising bar for design quality. While you are not a full time individual contributor, you stay close to the work and actively guide outcomes. You know when to step in to shape direction, unblock teams, or demonstrate what “great” looks like, especially in moments where quality, clarity, or speed matter most.

• You bring strong operational discipline to design. You believe great design organizations run on clear processes, predictable delivery, and strong partnership with Product and Engineering. You are comfortable owning planning, resourcing, prioritization, and design review rhythms that scale.

• You think in systems. You have deep experience with design systems and understand how to evolve them responsibly in partnership with engineering, balancing consistency with flexibility and innovation.

• You are a coach and mentor. You invest in growing designers through clear expectations, direct feedback, and thoughtful career development. You know how to develop senior designers and build teams that are accountable, motivated, and proud of their craft.

• You are an effective stakeholder partner who can align leaders around a shared vision, navigate tradeoffs, and translate strategy into execution. You communicate clearly and build trust across functions and geographies.

• You are comfortable operating at both strategic and tactical levels, helping connect long term product vision to near term delivery. You are forward looking and curious about emerging tools and practices, including AI native workflows, and how they can improve how teams design and ship.

Responsibilities :

• As Design Director for India, you will lead a team of up to 10 product designers based in India, operating in a hybrid model. This role reports directly to the Head of Product Design and is a key part of the global design leadership team.

• You will be accountable for the quality, consistency, and effectiveness of design outputs across your area. You will establish and uphold clear standards for UX, interaction, and visual quality, and ensure those standards are consistently met.

• You will manage, coach, and mentor designers, providing regular feedback, performance guidance, and career development support. You will build a culture of high standards, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

• You will partner closely with Product Management, Engineering, and Design leaders in the US and India to align on priorities, strategy, and execution. You will help translate company and product direction into clear design guidance for your team.

• You will drive design operations excellence, including planning, resourcing, workflow definition, design reviews, and cross team coordination. You will ensure design is predictable, well integrated, and effective at scale.

• You will play an active role in shaping and evolving the design system, working closely with design and engineering partners to ensure consistency, adoption, and quality across the platform.

• You will contribute to broader design leadership initiatives, helping define how Product Design operates and scales globally.
