Lab Test Technician What do you get to do in this position?
Conduct testing on electrical products at high voltages and high currents in a contained High Power Lab environment Work with circuit breakers, switchgear, busway, transformers and loadcenters Analyze test results and make critical pass/fail determinations for dedicated test scenarios Participate in test means modifications and improvements to enhance testing efficiency Document comprehensive testing procedures and results while ensuring compliance with industry We know skills and competencies show up in many different ways and can be based on your life experience.

Technical Skills & Expertise Electrical Theory:
Strong working knowledge of AC/DC electricity concepts, including voltage, current, power, and resistance.
Schematics: Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, wiring diagrams, and electrical schematics.
Test Equipment: Proficiency in operating multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and high-voltage test sets.
Data & Software: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel for data logging).
Familiarity with specialized software like LabVIEW, Perception or PLC programming is often a significant "plus." Safety Standards: Knowledge of NFPA 70E (Electrical Safety in the Workplace) and specific certification standards like UL, CSA, or IEC.
Dielectric & Insulation Testing: Proficiency in performing Hipot (high potential) testing, insulation resistance tests (Megger), and dielectric withstand tests Contact Resistance Measurement: Using micro-ohmmeters (e.g., Ductor testing) to verify the integrity of bolted connections and breaker contacts.
Education: Requirements: Associate’s Degree or higher in a related technical field, or appropriate experience Behavioral Skills: Teamwork Adaptability Accountability Good interpersonal skills Schneider Electric offers a robust benefits package to support our employees such as flexible work arrangements, paid family leave, 401(k)+ match, and more.
