The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving growth across assigned segments by developing new customer relationships, identifying business opportunities, and shaping strategic opportunities in alignment with our commercial objectives.

This role operates across multiple customer types and sectors, with increasing emphasis on electrification, new energies, infrastructure, buildings, and end‑user markets.

The ideal candidate is a proactive self‑starter who thrives in a fast‑moving environment, can navigate ambiguity, and demonstrates strong commercial and stakeholder‑management skills.

Responsibilites: Business Growth & Opportunity Development Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities to drive revenue growth.

Build and develop relationships with customers; end users, consultants, contractors, EPCs, and other strategic partners.

Influence and develop pipeline opportunities (targeting ~£10m per person annually, where applicable).

Formulate customer‑specific value propositions based on market insights and solution knowledge Account & Pipeline Management Create and execute account development plans aligned with annual growth objectives.

Maintain accurate opportunity data using CRM and digital sales tools Stakeholder Engagement: Engage internal teams (Sales, Marketing, Segment, End‑User Markets, Engineering) to support project pursuit.

Collaborate with cross‑functional groups to build competitive positioning and ensure offer suitability.

Engage customer engineering, procurement, and execution teams to understand needs and shape solutions.

Reporting & Forecasting Provide regular reports on performance, pipeline health, forecast accuracy, and market activity.

Ensure governance standards are met regarding opportunity validation, qualification, and progression.

Skills & Experience: Strong commercial acumen with proven success in business development or solution sales.

Able to develop strong customer relationships across all levels.

Demonstrates strong communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities.

Able to work independently and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.

Experience: in technical sales, business development, or account management (energy, electrical distribution, infrastructure, or industrial markets preferred).

Understanding of electrification, low/medium‑voltage systems, or emerging energy technologies beneficial.

Proficiency with CRM platforms and digital sales tools.
