Within the Global Competency Center in Electrical Systems team, this position is created to enhance our knowledge in advanced systems and electrical distribution.
The candidate will interact with multiple teams in different Business units and expertise teams with high level of expertise and knowledge in power systems and electrical distribution design.
He or she will lead and drive the innovation and technical work package within the organization regarding the new energy landscape and new challenges in electrical distribution from protection to control, safety and standards.
What will you do?
You will work on complex problems where analyzing situations and data requires an in‑depth evaluation of diverse technical and contextual factors.
You will drive and manage studies and investigations within the various streams and projects that fall under a global mandate.
One of our main targeted application domains is Data Center solutions, in addition to a broader range of advanced electrical engineering topics.
This position requires a high degree of autonomy and a strong leadership mindset, particularly when dealing with forward‑looking or anticipatory subjects.
Critical thinking is essential to succeed in this role.
These soft skills complement the required expertise in one or several of the following electrical engineering fields:
ED (Electrical Distribution) equipment behavior modeling Protection algorithms Microgrids and Advanced Distribution Management Systems Smart Grid, Renewable Energy integration, Distribution Network Planning Power System Optimization and Transient Analysis Switching overvoltages, Insulation Coordination, Transient Recovery Voltage Skills: Any application knowledge is an added value and an experience in conversion could be appreciated.
Direct current knowledge is required due to integration of PV and batteries in DERs..
The candidate should master one or two tools of simulation and would be willing to implement in Mathworks environment the studies regarding different architectures.
Using these models, he or she will enable the stakeholders to target the optimized architecture according to fixed KPIs.
The candidate should help to maintain and evolve the library of power systems model within the team and will lead the work on his / her scope.
Tools to be used: Matlab Simulink Simpowersystems PSCAD EMTP-ATP Power Factory Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering A PhD or a seniority level experience is valuable/preferred Willing to travel up to 20% Work a Hybrid (average at least 2 days onsite) schedule based out of Raleigh, NC Let us learn about you!
