What You Will Do

  • Serve as a technical lead and systems engineer on challenging software development projects such as the Common Aviation Command and Control System (CAC2S) or the Battlespace Command and Control Center (BC3)
  • Be engaged with exciting and innovative advancements in Multi-Sensor and Information Fusion, Networked Situational Awareness, and Visualization technologies
  • Perform full life cycle systems engineering tasks including system requirements analysis, definition, architecture design, trade studies, integration, verification and validation (IV&V)
  • Serve as Technical Leader of medium to large engineering development teams
  • Act as systems engineering discipline subject matter expert for department, mentoring other engineers and solving critical technical problems with innovative solutions
  • Travel to customer sites as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Experience with design and requirements derivation for software; some coaching and mentoring experience
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with any of the following systems: Link 16 Tactical Data Link (J series messages), VMF (K series messages), Command and Control (C2), Surveillance/Radars, Air Traffic Control, Mission Planning, Missile Systems or Combat/Fire Control systems
  • Understand and apply commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the systems engineering field (ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288, Mil-Std-499B)
  • Experience with systems engineering tools such as DOORS, Sparx Systems Enterprise Architect, and Cameo
  • Experience with configuration and test of cloud-based software deployments
  • Experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS) techniques and applying them as a Cost Account Manager (CAM)
  • Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance

Compensation

Salary Range: $101,000 USD - $203,000 USD

The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
