Location: Hosur, Tamilnadu Job Summary
The Warehouse Manager will lead and oversee end‑to‑end warehouse operations across two shifts, ensuring safe, accurate, and efficient material flow to support the manufacturing of Standard and Engineering-to-Order (ETO) prefabricated modular data center solutions.
This role also holds responsibility for order management, outbound logistics, and transport coordination, ensuring seamless alignment between production, planning, commercial, and customer teams. The ideal candidate is a strong people leader with expertise in warehouse operations, ERP systems, and supply chain execution within a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Warehouse Operations & Inventory Management
- Oversee two-shift warehouse operations, ensuring continuity across receiving, put-away, storage, picking, staging, kitting, and shipping activities.
- Ensure accuracy of all transactions across SAP/Oracle systems, including cycle counts, inventory reconciliations, and WIP consumption.
- Guarantee proper handling of sensitive electrical, mechanical, and modular assembly components.
- Maintain optimal warehouse layout, storage utilization, and proper identification of material locations.
- Ensure material availability to support production schedules and project timelines.
- Team Leadership & Capability Building
- Lead, mentor, and develop Warehouse Team Leaders, Order Management & Logistics Specialists, forklift operators, and warehouse associates.
- Provide structured training on safety, quality, ERP usage, and operational standards.
- Drive a culture of accountability, teamwork, continuous improvement, and positive employee engagement.
- Manage shift schedules, staffing, performance evaluations, and succession planning.
- Order Management & Logistics Oversight
- Ensure accurate recording, validation, and booking of sales orders and purchase orders in Oracle/SAP.
- Review order backlog, WIP status, and coordinate with production to meet committed delivery dates.
- Oversee creation of QSKUs, job codes, and all compliance-related documentation required for order and logistics processes.
- Own outbound logistics:
- Transport planning
- Dimensional and packing list accuracy
- Export/import documentation
- Incoterms alignment
- Tracking and milestone reporting
- Optimize logistics cost by reviewing transport quotes and ensuring efficient shipping methods.
- Provide delivery status updates to MDC Project Managers and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Safety, Compliance & Quality
- Lead safety programs, toolbox talks, LOTO adherence, and regular warehouse safety audits.
- Ensure compliance with ISO standards, internal quality procedures, and regulatory requirements including import/export laws.
- Investigate and resolve safety incidents, near misses, material discrepancies, and logistics deviations.
- Maintain complete traceability for audits (internal/external).
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with procurement, planning, manufacturing, quality, offer management, finance, and project management teams.
- Act as a key stakeholder during opportunity pipeline (P1) reviews to validate logistics and warehouse feasibility.
- Support engineering and quality teams with material verification and NCR processes.
- Serve as the escalation point for delivery issues and cross-site coordination with HUBs and front office teams.
- Continuous Improvement & Digital Transformation
- Drive Lean, 5S, and SPS initiatives across warehouse functions.
- Implement process automation and digitization opportunities in material flow, order booking, transport tracking, and documentation management.
- Improve material flow efficiency and reduce lead time through layout optimization and standard work practices.
- Monitor KPIs:
- On-time delivery (OTD)
- Inventory accuracy
- Warehouse productivity
- Logistics cost performance
- Safety compliance metrics
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in warehouse, logistics, or supply chain operations, with at least3+ years in a supervisory/managerial role.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle preferred).
- Strong knowledge of warehouse processes, transport management, and export/import compliance.
- Experience in high-mix, low-volume or modular manufacturing environments is strongly preferred.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem‑solving skills.
- Proven ability to lead multi-shift teams in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Working knowledge of Lean, 5S, or Six Sigma preferred.
- Willingness to travel domestically/internationally (up to 15%).
Preferred Competencies
- Understanding of modular data center manufacturing and project-based logistics.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, BOMs, and packaging requirements.
- Experience with warehouse automation, scanners, and digital tools.
- Past Material Handling Equipment experience beneficial.
