What you’ll build

You will help build the next generation of SAP Business AI for Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) and Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), embedding LLMs, predictive forecasting, agents, and RAG directly into SAP’s financial core.

Our vision is to transform FP&A into a decision ‑intelligence hub that unifies data across finance, supply chain, and HR. Through agentic workflows and generative insights, we enable organizations to not only predict the future but to shape it, ensuring that every financial decision is grounded in deep, cross-functional context and global compliance. This AI-‑native approach turns finance teams into strategic partners who can predict and shape future outcomes.

As a greenfield initiative, you’ll help define the technical architecture from scratch. Supported by SAP’s latest technologies — Business Technology Platform, SAP Analytics Cloud, and Business AI — you’ll decide how to combine them into a category ‑defining product. You will be part of an Empowered Product Team in close (daily) collaboration with Product Management and User Experience.

Responsibilities

• You will be the visionary behind our cloud-native landscape. You will design the overarching blueprints that allow our AI, data, and application layers to function as a unified, high-performance ecosystem.

• Your work ensures that our global infrastructure is secure by design, infinitely scalable, and flexible enough to adopt future technologies.

• You will provide architecture guidance throughout the product development lifecycle and select technologies to ensure system quality such as scalability, performance, and security.

• You will be accountable for sound architecture and design artifacts, including the creation and maintenance of architectural documentation.

• You will establish and steward the alignment between business direction and technology by collaborating with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

• You will be accountable for the adoption of SAP Product Standards, best practices, and design pattern.

• You will provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams, while anticipating technology refresh needs and investment; deprecating/retire technologies when necessary.

What you bring

• 8+ years of professional experience.

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields.

• Advanced knowledge in Java, Kotlin or similar backend programming language with relevant frameworks

• Solid software engineering fundamentals: clean code, testing, Git/GitHub.

• Visionary Design: Mastery of modern cloud architectural patterns (serverless, microservices, event-driven design).

• Security & Compliance: Experience designing systems that meet the world's strictest data privacy and enterprise security standards.

• Scale Mastery: Ability to design global-scale infrastructure that remains cost-efficient and performant.

• A track record of solving technical challenges that affect multiple teams or product lines.

• Fluent English
