What You Will Do

  • Participation in collaborative, cross-disciplined integrated product teams, employing agile software development techniques and resources to plan, design, develop, test, and integrate complex software and systems solutions for aerospace and defense applications
  • Responsible for some or all of a Software product, contributing as a software team member and possibly leading a small software team
  • Responsibilities spanning the full lifecycle of product development, from architecture and design, through integration, test, and field support

Required Qualifications

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience
  • Experience with C, C++, Java, Rust, or other OOP languages
  • Experience developing on Red Hat Linux or equivalent OS

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance prior to start date
  • U.S. citizenship (required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance)
  • Experience with Agile lifecycle process including Scrum, Continuous Integration and Test-Driven Development Methodologies
  • Knowledge of DevOps and DevSec Ops practices, including CI/CD pipelines and secure software development methodologies
  • Experience with UNIX, Linux, Vx Works, INTEGRITY, SYSBIOS, or other RTOS
  • Exposure to Open Systems Architectures and modular design principles
  • Experience with design, code, integration, and test of large systems
  • Experience with some or all phases of software development: architecture, design, implementation, testing, and system integration
  • Domain knowledge in one or more of the following areas: Radars, EO/IR, EW, Network Communications, Datalinks, Platform Integration, Weapons/Effects (Missiles, Projectiles), Command & Control for Fire Control and Surveillance applications, Multi-Domain Airborne Sensor Fusion and Tracking experience

Salary Range: $86,800 USD - $165,200 USD

The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
