About the Role

Step into a pivotal role at the heart of our Operations team, where your expertise directly fuels our ability to build world‑class products. As our Product Control Specialist, you'll take ownership of critical materials management activities—from precision kitting to proactive inventory control—ensuring every component is exactly where it needs to be, when it needs to be there. Your sharp attention to detail will safeguard the accuracy and reliability of our inventory systems, while your collaboration with Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Engineering teams will help drive a seamless, efficient flow of materials to the production floor. This is a role for someone who thrives in a fast‑moving environment, loves solving problems before they happen, and wants to make a visible impact every single day.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and coordinate material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet production/customer requirements
  • Assist in production activity control to meet business and financial objectives
  • Work with Managers to plan and manage product tasks to improve runtime
  • Manage, create and pick kit to release manufacturing floor to schedule
  • Create shipping packages as required by contract, coordinate cross-functional sell-off activities to ensure on time delivery of hardware, and trouble-shooting system generated errors
  • Develop inventory control techniques including cycle counting to avoid shortages and minimize excess inventory
  • Assist in processing customer orders and shipments according to the established schedule
  • Review job orders and accordingly establish priorities and schedules
  • Coordinate interdepartmental activities with Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Engineering
  • Evaluate and provide status updates on assemblies that are in progress, material availability, and potential production problems
  • Plan and monitor materials movement in production cycles to ensure continuous operations
  • Participate in team projects and other tasks as assigned by leadership

Requirements

  • A college diploma or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience is required for this role
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with production control or planning / scheduling
  • Strong computer skills in the Microsoft suite of programs with emphasis on Excel
  • Knowledge of inventory management processes and philosophies, including Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Just in Time (JIT)
  • Microsoft Dynamics experience would be considered an asset
  • Continuous Improvement process experience
  • Able to communicate and present precise information to internal/external customers and leadership
  • Self-directed and action-oriented with the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work in a team environment and work effectively with all levels of internal and external customers
  • Ability to work under pressure and within time constraints

Additional Requirements

This position is required to work onsite at our facility in Waterloo, Ontario. The successful candidate will be required to complete a criminal background check and obtain/maintain a Government of Canada security clearance and any applicable clearances with respect to the handling and transfer of controlled goods.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary Range: $47,000 CAD - $84,000 CAD

The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
