in the Defense Industry? We are looking for a Software Engineer I with embedded development experience to join our Space and RF Sensors team at Raytheon in Fort Wayne IN.

What You Will Do:

• Design, develop, and maintain software for aerospace and defense applications, ensuring robust functionality and reliability.

• Implement, test, and debug software solutions to ensure compliance with project requirements and quality standards.

• Collaborate with systems engineering, hardware engineering, and other teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal system performance.

• Participate in code reviews, testing procedures, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance software quality and development processes.

• Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and issues in a timely manner.

• Document software designs, test results, and troubleshooting processes for future reference

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (STEM).

• Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, Python, or Java.

• Experience in software development life cycles, including Agile methodologies.

• The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Knowledge of DevOps and DevSec Ops practices, including CI/CD pipelines and secure software development methodologies.

• Experience leveraging Generative AI and Machine Learning to improve productivity, collaboration, and performance

• Familiarity with real-time embedded systems or aerospace/defense applications.

• Experience with version control tools such as Git.

• Exposure to Open Systems Architectures and modular design principles.

• Exposure to cybersecurity principles and secure coding practices.

• Experience with software testing and debugging tools.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

The salary range for this role is 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
