Job Description:
Responsible for managing the end-to-end bidding process for large and complex opportunities, including IT services, solutions, system design, and manufacturing services.
This includes project management from initial engagement through to contract finalization, with a strong focus on establishing commercial and trading terms. Accountable for validating and endorsing the proposed technical solution and authorized to approve bids and proposals at the highest decision-making level.
In addition, it serves as a Control and Instrumentation Proposal Engineer for small to medium-sized proposals. This involves interpreting customer requirements, defining optimal technical solutions, and delivering high-quality proposals within stipulated timelines—independently for smaller proposals and with minimal guidance from the Proposal Lead for medium-sized ones
Key Competencies:
- Strong understanding of Integrated Control and Safety Systems (ICSS)
- Proven expertise in proposal development and bid management
- Customer-centric approach with sound judgment and effective communication skills
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to dynamic project requirements
Must Have Skills
- Holds a Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering.
- Over 3 years of experience in proposal development and project execution within the oil and gas industry.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
- Skilled in proposal and project management, with a strong understanding of modernization initiatives.
- Proficient in analyzing customer Requests for Quotation (RFQs), identifying ambiguities, and resolving queries to ensure clarity and alignment.
- Proficiency in Proposal Management and Commercial Operations
- Extensive experience in managing complex proposals within the process industry, including handling RFQs and RFPs.
- Strong knowledge of commercial terms such as Terms & Conditions (T&C), payment milestones, payment terms, Incoterms, cash flow planning, and legal clauses.
- Skilled in utilizing costing and quotation tools, particularly Quote Builder.
- Solid understanding of applicable taxes and duties relevant to industrial proposals.
- Familiarity with IAB tools and Rockwell Automation products is considered a valuable asset.
- Proficient in standard PC applications and productivity software including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
Rockwell Automation’s hybrid policy aligns that employees are expected to work at a Rockwell location at least Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays unless they have a business obligation out of the office.
