Job Description:

Position Summary:

Rockwell Automation's Safety, Sensing & Industrial Components Business is looking for an experienced Software Team Lead. This lead will lead a product team of engineers on all stages of the software development lifecycle, including design, implementation, and testing activities for industry-leading software. You will be experienced in the areas of engineering management, including recruitment, task assignments, technical mentoring, performance evaluations, people development, etc. The candidate will collaborate with Cross Functional, Software, Architecture, and Test engineering peers to ensure the development of high-quality products.

You will report to the Manager, Software Engineering and have a hybrid schedule working in Pune, India.

Your Responsibilities:

• Guide new product support continuation engineering projects with superior quality and on-time delivery
• Responsible for continuous development/ improvement and motivating a software development team.
• Partner with other teams to drive alignment and collaboration. Act as a bridge between technical teams, project stakeholders, and leadership.
• Devise project plans, schedules, and present to relevant stakeholders, drive execution
• Responsible for team building, frequent assessment and evaluation of direct reports
• Mentor, coach, and inspire team members to achieve their full potential
• Foster an empathetic, collaborative, and inclusive team culture
• Provide clear guidance, feedback, and support to unblock execution teams
• Drive innovation to improve efficiency, quality, and speed of delivery
• Support recruitment and developing onboarding/ training plans.

The Essentials

You Will Have:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
• A minimum of 2 years' experience in leading a team of direct reports of individual contributors/ engineers.
• A minimum of 10+ years of experience in Software development with a proven track record of delivering high-quality software on time.
• Experience developing software using Agile Scrum/ SAFe.
• Experience in building Team and culture, people development.
• Strong multitasking ability with an appetite for switching priorities effectively.
• Able to travel locally and internationally if required.

The Preferred

You Might Also Have:

• Experience developing products that are Functional Safety certified.
• Knowledge of safety standard IEC 61508.
• Understanding of communication .protocols, such as RS-232, USB, Ethernet, IO Link, CIP.
• Proficient in Angular, C#, .net.
• Proven ability to analyze and solve complex problems involving hardware and Software.
• Experience with standard version control systems.
• Familiarity with Rockwell Automation controllers, and software tools.
• collaboration with global teams.
• Plugged into emerging technologies including AI and identify opportunities to integrate them into projects.
