Raytheon Technologies is seeking a highly motivated candidate to serve as a Program Linguist. The Translator will serve as an official translator and interpreter for Raytheon personnel in Poland. This post requires English to Ukrainian and Ukrainian to English fluency.

This position is in Warsaw, Poland.

This position requires effective organization and a strong understanding of differences in US and

Ukrainian cultures. The Translator role will focus on managing, facilitating, and providing effective translation and interpretation in support of training, negotiations, and program performance, and execution meetings with Raytheon in country. The tasks may also include translation and interpretation support for other related activities with the Armed Forces, various other agencies, and the business community.

This position requires the ability to obtain a Polish or NATO clearance.

What You Will Do

• Preparation of written translation of correspondence originating from either Raytheon or Ukrainian side and industry sources to facilitate proposal submissions, trainings, discussions, and negotiations,

• Serving as official interpreter for Raytheon personnel in both formal and informal meetings, training sessions, conferences, and other interactions by providing consecutive interpretations of discussions and briefings,

• Listening to, understanding, and interpreting statements while accurately relaying concepts, ideas, and intent of the original statement,

• Accurate translation of technical and nontechnical documents, including unique military technology, contract letters, incoming and outgoing correspondence, policies, regulations, procedures, and general business documents,

• Serving as final editor and proofreader to provide consistent and accurate translations of written documents originating from either third parties contracted by the company or from company employees,

• Assisting Raytheon personnel by interpreting and preparing ad-hoc translation of Ukrainian or

English business correspondence originating from various sources,

• Maintaining and developing a glossary of commonly used Ukrainian and English technical and military terminology,

• Assisting Raytheon personnel with other ad hoc translation and interpretation related responsibilities, as may be directed.

• Travel around Poland and potentially to Ukraine up to 50% of the time

Qualifications You Must Have

• Experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience
• Fluency in Ukrainian and proficiency in English,
• Experience in technical and military translation and interpretation experience,
• Previous experience with consecutive interpretation from English to Ukrainian and from Ukrainian to English,
• Current Polish citizenship
• Formal experience in translation, editing, and interpreting,

Qualifications We Prefer

• Security clearance
• Command of Russian
• Master’s Degree in Linguistics or equivalent
• Familiarity with defense industry and terminology
• Organization and management skills
• Experience with sight/a vista interpretation
