We are seeking an experienced System Administrator that will be working in a highly collaborative, multi-platform and multi–disciplined environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the team
  • Serve as a technical project leader
  • Participate in meetings with customers, providing technical guidance and best practice to ensure successful outcomes
  • Provision, install/configure, operate, and maintain systems hardware and software related to a Windows/Linux infrastructure for classified programs
  • Manage servers (software and hardware)
  • Manage storage (logical and physical)
  • Implement cross platform authentication and access management
  • Perform data backup and restoration
  • Configure software and licenses
  • Provide workstation support
  • Assist with troubleshooting, patching, and support Windows, ESXi and Linux Systems
  • Provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and Red Hat Enterprise Linux environment
  • Understand and maintain knowledge of Windows Server internals to include DNS, DHCP, AD, and server replication methods
  • Work as a team member in a fast-paced technological environment
  • Use troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems of a moderate to high scope and complexity to include the integration of hardware and operating systems (OS)
  • Install and configure software applications requested by end users
  • Work with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements and provide documentation on advanced IT processes and procedures
  • Perform other tasks as assigned
  • Must be able to obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification) within 6 months of start date

Note: Systems are operational 24x7 and occasionally require work effort beyond standard work hours. Full time 100% Onsite position.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a University degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum of 5 years experience
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Top Secret security clearance is required prior to start date
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • SME level experience with some of, but not limited to, the following technologies: Active Directory, WSUS, VMware, NETAPP, networking administration experience, Windows or Linux administration, backup, and recovery enterprise suites
  • Experience with Server architecture and troubleshooting methods and be able to assist in developing solutions and documentation to a variety of technical problems
  • Experience in Dev Sec Ops, containerization, Kubernetes

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience using VMWare v Center, v Sphere, Windows desktops (Windows 10, 11), Splunk and ESXi and/or other virtual computing methods
  • Scripting/automation PowerShell, Bash
  • Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification) and an Operating System Certification
  • Direct working experience with NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS and/or DoD/RMF
  • Experience with data storage, NAS, and SAN technologies and solutions
  • Experience supporting engineers in software, simulations, and hardware development
  • Experience with Microsoft WSUS, SCCM, and/or Exchange
  • High Performance Computing (HPC) experience in a Linux environment

Compensation and Benefits

Salary Range: $118,300 USD - $224,900 USD

The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
