About the Role

An excellent opportunity exists within the Material Estimating Organization as a Principal Proposal Analyst. The estimating organization is responsible for the preparation of various types of proposals for development, production and competitive contracts including modifications to existing contracts. In addition, the Estimating Organization supports gate reviews, government audits, and negotiations with the customer. This position is an onsite role for the Tucson, AZ or the Tewksbury, MA location. This role will be supporting classified efforts as applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for the development, analysis and completion of material proposals
  • Work with other functions from across the company to understand and evaluate the material and other direct costs associated with proposed contracts and the associated program
  • Utilize company estimating and pricing programs and tools
  • Lead the development of Material Basis of Estimates to include tracking progress, validating and analyzing supplier quotes and Purchase Order History, ensuring consistency across the program, and confirming the estimating approach is sound
  • Ensure proposals comply with all FAR and internal requirements
  • Assess, develop and implement solutions leading to a thorough material package
  • Perform detailed and complex analysis of inputs to ensure soundness in our material estimates

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related/applicable field and a minimum of 5 years prior relevant experience, OR an Advance Degree in a related field and a minimum of 3 years' experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong organization and analytical skills
  • The ability to work well in teams, with peers and management
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently meeting deadlines in a schedule driven environment
  • Knowledge and experience with proposal development, price buildup, and estimating and pricing processes
  • Knowledge and experience with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), (TINA) and/or other Government Procurement regulations as they pertain to Bid/Cost proposal

Compensation and Benefits

Salary Range: $86,800 USD - $165,200 USD

The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Incentive Compensation:

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

Work Location

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
