Are you a master student in machine learning, image- or signal processing, computer science or related field?

Apply for a summer internship within Advanced Driving Assistance Systems and Automated Driving development at Qualcomm!

We are looking for students who are curious, motivated, and inspired by the idea of combining human and artificial intelligence in next generation vision based perception systems.

What You May Work On:

Data Quality & Validation Tools:

High quality ground truth is essential for developing safe and robust vehicle functions. You will help us improve the tools that validate, compare, and monitor the datasets used throughout development.

You may work on:

• Developing a Ground Truth Differ tool to analyze annotation datasets side-by-side
• Creating a Ground Truth quality report module that summarizes key metrics
• Ranking and grouping differences between dataset versions
• Detecting missing or unexpectedly removed files
• Adding sanity checks for annotation and GT files
• Developing statistics to understand and visualize data distributions

Visualization Tools Using Rerun:

Visualization is a critical part of our development workflow. You will have the work on advanced visualizers for lane and traffic-sign perception functions.

A key part of this work is integrating Rerun, a modern and flexible visualization and debugging tool that helps teams quickly understand complex system behavior.

You will work on porting one or more visualizers to Rerun and investigate the feasibility of using Rerun as a replacement for our current visualization tools.

Student background (Internships):

• Studying your 3rd or 4th year of your M.Sc. program
• Great skills in Python, extra meritorious if you also know Qt, Pandas and Polars
• Experience with Computer Vision and data visualization
• Understanding of the importance of data in an AI powered world
• As a person, you are innovative, solution focused and possess a strong drive

Master Thesis Projects – 2027

We offer a range of thesis topics within cutting edge AI for autonomous driving.

• Unified BEV representation for multi-modal road scene understanding
• 3D perception via graph-based methods
• Deep learning approaches to object target tracking
• Enhanced topology reasoning via topology sequence learning
• Temporal networks for dynamic traffic light classification

Student Background (Thesis)

• 4th year student on a M.Sc. program in Computer Science and Engineering, Applied Physics and Electrical Engineering, Information Technology or related field — preferably with a specialization in machine learning and/or computer vision.
• Good, documented knowledge of deep learning techniques
• Good programming skills in Python
