General Summary:Software Engineer – Hypervisor Development for AI Processors5 days on site position in Haifa

We are looking for a talented and driven Software Engineer with strong systems programming expertise to join our team developing a best‑in‑class hypervisor for Qualcomm’s next‑generation AI processors.

In this role, you will contribute to foundational system software that enables secure, scalable, and high‑performance virtualization for advanced AI workloads deployed across millions of devices worldwide. You will work close to hardware in a highly collaborative environment, with architecture, firmware, OS, and silicon teams to deliver robust, production‑ready solutions that power Qualcomm’s AI platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain core hypervisor software components in C for high‑performance AI processing systems.

  • Implement virtualization and isolation mechanisms for CPU, memory, interrupts, and devices on heterogeneous AI platforms.

  • Define and maintain efficient and well‑structured hardware–software interfaces between hypervisor, firmware, and underlying hardware.

  • Develop features related to resource management, scheduling, security, and reliability in a multi‑tenant execution environment.

  • Participate in system bring‑up and integration across pre‑silicon and post‑silicon environments.

  • Perform thorough unit, integration, and system‑level testing to ensure correctness, robustness, and scalability.

  • Debug complex system‑level issues spanning hardware, firmware, and operating system layers.

  • Analyze and optimize performance‑critical code paths to meet stringent latency and throughput requirements.

  • Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams to translate architectural requirements into high‑quality software implementations.

Requirements

  • BSc or MSc in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in low‑level system software development.

  • Strong proficiency in C/C++.

  • Solid understanding of operating system fundamentals, including memory management, interrupts, scheduling, and concurrency.

  • Experience developing software close to hardware in performance‑critical environments.

  • Strong analytical and debugging skills, with the ability to reason about complex system interactions.

Advantages

  • Experience with hypervisors, kernels, or low‑level OS components.

  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies and hardware privilege levels.

  • Experience with firmware, bootloaders, HALs, or device drivers.

  • Knowledge of multicore architectures, cache coherency, and memory consistency models.

  • Experience optimizing software for performance, scalability, and power efficiency.

  • Background in system security, isolation mechanisms, or trusted execution environments.

  • Exposure to AI accelerators, heterogeneous computing, or SoC‑level system design.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
