What You'll Do We’re seeking a dynamic and strategic Regional VP – Customer Care Leader to join our Principal Custody Solutions relationship management team.

In this key leadership role, you will guide a high‑performing team responsible for client, asset, and revenue retention, while driving revenue growth and delivering ongoing value creation for our clients.

As the leader on this team, you will be accountable for developing talent, fostering engagement, and creating a culture that supports and retains top performers.

You’ll partner closely with teams across the enterprise to align strategies, advance company priorities, and enhance overall business outcomes.

Success in this role requires a strong ability to build trusted relationships—both internally and externally.

You will engage directly with clients and advisor consultants to deliver on Principal’s value proposition and ensure an exceptional client experience.

You'll have the opportunity to: Responsible for driving revenue growth, client retention, asset retention, and revenue retention for the assigned team.

Provide strategic oversight and lead the client management practices for your team’s block of business.

Ensure teams are setting goals in alignment with the company vision.

Balance the objectives of growth, expense management, profitability and retention.

Lead, inspire, coach, and develop team members to advance skills, creativity, curiosity, and problem solving.

Execute on Principal’s leadership requirements and documentation practices.

Drive efficient client to staff ratios and ensure alignment to the performance management objectives set by the company and Principal Custody Solutions (PCS).

Attend calls with team members to ensure ability to provide adequate coaching and feedback.

Hold team accountable for goals and job requirements and provide the highest levels of communication to the team to facilitate a culture of care working environment.

Execute on required documentation for you and the team and engage in internal presentations or advocacy where needed.

Reach out to clients and advisors for feedback on team, value proposition, and services in conjunction with executive sponsors or team members.

Act as executive sponsor to assigned clients, as applicable.

Lead, consult, or participate in special projects, finalist presentations, client events or other initiatives as required.

Partner with key internal and external partners to support the PCS strategy.

Engage with clients and advisor consultants to understand needs, solve challenges, and reinforce Principal’s market‑leading solutions.

Lead and execute broader business initiatives that span multiple teams and functions, influencing outcomes beyond direct reporting lines to advance organizational priorities.

Who You Are Bachelor's degree or equivalent, and 12+ years related work experience.

Must have experience with client relationship management, leadership, and servicing accounts.

Must be able to lead and manage off-site employees effectively.

Trust, Custody and Retirement product knowledge preferred.

Excellent leadership, communication, planning, decision-making, and demonstrated. relationship management skills required.

Must have good financial management skills and basic computer knowledge.

Travel required up to 25% including overnight stays.

Salary: Range Information

Salary: ranges below reflect targeted base salaries.

Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program.

Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance.

Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.

Salary: Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly) $141000 - $191000 / year Time Off Program Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness.

Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.

Pension Eligible Yes Work Environments This role offers in-office, hybrid (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek), and remote work arrangements (only if residing more than 30 miles from Des Moines, IA.).

You’ll work with your leader to figure out which option may align best based on several factors.
