If so, Pfizer Grange Castle has an apprenticeship opportunity within a state-of-the-art Biopharmaceutical manufacturing plant for you!

In partnership with the Irish Med Tech Association & IBEC our Engineering network within Pfizer Grange Castle we are seeking candidates for a Process Technician Apprenticeship. This is a 2-year program combining part time learning and work placement, leading to attainment of Higher Cert (Level 6) in Bio Process and Chemical Process Technician.

This programme includes both technical and academic content with a key focus on manufacturing. This is an opportunity to join a world class facility who is dedicated to bringing therapies that will significantly improve patients’ lives.

We are looking for an Apprentice Process Technician to join our team, this role will support manufacturing operations by assisting with routine production activities, including equipment preparation, material handling, in‑process checks, basic equipment verification. The role includes supporting sampling activities, preparation of materials or solutions for manufacturing use, stock control, and maintenance of production equipment and tools.

This role is an on the job, off the job learning.

You will be required to attend college for 15 weeks block release at TU Dublin You will return to Pfizer for 9 months. When onsite in Pfizer Grange Castle, you will work on a Shift Pattern which may include Days & Nights. This will be discussed in advance!About the Role and Responsibilities:

You will be directly involved in the manufacturing of our products, ensuring that they meet all specifications for safety, potency, and efficacy. You will work within the guidelines of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) to ensure conformance with all regulatory requirements and site Standard Operation Procedures (SOP’s), while assisting in the improvement of all current processes through our Continuous Improvement Program.

  • Assist in maintaining a safety orientated culture, cGMP compliant work environment always.

  • Perform initial troubleshooting of issues identified during routing operations.

  • Assist with the investigation of operational deviations through Quality System, engaging with relevant functions as appropriate.

  • Provide input into the creation and maintenance of area SOPs and batch records.

  • Preparation of materials for batches and batch manufacture of bio pharmaceutical products.

  • Use Lean tools as part of daily operations (e.g., Method 1, 5S) to optimise efficiency and drive culture of Continuous Improvement and Zero Defects.

  • Assist in facility start up, installation and validation activities to support the introduction of new products

  • This is a shift-based role (For 24/7 Operations), Day and Night shifts.Candidate requirements:

  • Minimum Leaving Certificate.

  • Have a passion for Science and/or Technology, Engineering.

  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic.

  • Work well as part of a team.

  • Self-motivated / self-starter

  • Excellence in systems and practical applications.

  • Have good time management & prioritisation skills

  • Be committed to excellence in operational and compliance requirements

  • Focused on process improvements within a structured environment.

  • Willingness to learn and grow.

  • Willing to do Shift Work.

  • Willing to start September 2026Additional Information

  • In order to be considered for this position in Ireland you need to be legally eligible to work in Ireland.
