Our engineering organization consists of many talented Android and iOS app developers distributed across the EU and US. For day-to-day work, our engineers are organized into smaller cross-functional feature squads or system-level teams. These teams have a great deal of autonomy and are responsible for the development and architecture of their features and systems. They take full ownership of their code and handle everything from concepting, design, and implementation to release, maintenance, and bug fixes.

We are looking for experienced Senior iOS Engineers to join our app development organization. We have several roles available across various teams, from developing new member-facing features to building the foundational systems that ensure seamless connectivity and data synchronization between the Oura Ring and the app. Whether you are passionate about crafting beautiful user interfaces or architecting robust, scalable low-level systems, we have a place for you.

This role is on-site or remote within Finland, with a preference for candidates who can regularly visit our offices in Helsinki or Oulu.

What You will do

• Design, build, and maintain high-quality, scalable, and maintainable code for the Oura iOS app.

• Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Designers, and other teams—such as backend, firmware, data science, and QA—to deliver complex, high-impact features and system improvements.

• Contribute to the entire development lifecycle, from architectural design and implementation to testing, release, and maintenance.

• Work with iOS colleagues across the US and EU to improve the overall health of the iOS codebase, develop best practices, and enhance our development processes.

• Participate actively in technical discussions, code reviews, and platform-level improvements to ensure we provide performant and reliable experiences for our members.

• Mentor other engineers and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Who You are

We would love to have You on our team if you have

• A minimum of 8 years of professional experience shipping high-quality iOS applications.

• Strong proficiency in Swift with UIKit and modern iOS development, with a deep understanding of modern iOS app architectures.

• Experience with collaborative development on complex and shared codebases, including proficiency with Git and standard code review workflows.

• A strong focus on quality, with experience in unit testing, UI testing, and manual testing.

• The ability to take ownership of projects, design technical solutions, and drive implementation with limited guidance.

• Strong computer science fundamentals and a solid understanding of design patterns.

• Fluency in English both written and spoken.

• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills

We also appreciate if you have experience with any of the following:

• SwiftUI, Swift Structured Concurrency, or Combine.

• Performance optimization and systems architecture.

• Working with firmware teams on projects involving hardware.

• Developing software for health, wellness, or fitness products.

• Mentoring or technical leadership.

• Domain specific supportive skills like: TypeScript, or C++, Low-level systems, such as Core Bluetooth and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE).
