About the role

In this role, you will operate in a highly complex data environment, becoming the go-to expert on finance-related topics (controllership, treasury, credit risk, liquidity, capital, FP&A, etc.) within Internal Audit. You will routinely navigate large-scale, distributed data sources, connect information from multiple domains, and translate it into clear insights for the audit agenda.

As part of the Internal Audit, you will primarily work on audits, while also helping the team strengthen continuous auditing and predictive risk monitoring. This involves using data to identify patterns, outliers, and emerging risks, and then transforming those findings into actionable recommendations.

As products continue to grow within the company, the exposure to regulatory risks increases proportionally. Your pivotal role will be crucial in understanding how Internal Audit can support he company's healthy expansion by providing insights into key risk exposures and mitigation

You'll be responsible for

  • Navigate Nubank’s complex data landscape in finance topics, understanding how data is generated, stored, and consumed across different systems (e.g., Data Bricks, Big Query, internal tools), and using this knowledge to design and execute robust audit tests.

  • Perform audits on key finance processes (accounting, credit risk, liquidity, capital, treasury, FP&A, etc.), assessing data quality, process effectiveness, and control design/operation.

  • Strengthen continuous auditing by proposing and implementing data-driven routines, indicators, and automated tests that allow ongoing monitoring of key risks and controls.

  • Act as the Internal Audit ambassador on finance topics, leveraging your understanding of business strategy, regulatory requirements, and emerging challenges.

  • Successfully engage stakeholders at all levels of the company, promoting a collaborative and efficient environment.

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to assess and enhance the effectiveness of operations and risk management processes.

  • Develop and implement robust audit plans and methodologies tailored to activities.

  • Prepare and present clear, concise audit reports to senior leadership, detailing findings, recommendations, and strategic improvements.

  • Facilitate data-driven discussions within the Internal Audit team and across diverse business sectors and regions (BR, MX, and CO).

We are looking for a person who has

  • Strong data literacy and ability to navigate complex data environments.

  • Knowledge of SQL/Python or another programming language, and the ability to use them to explore and validate complex data.

  • Experience working with large and/or distributed datasets and understanding data structures and flows.

  • Project management skills.

  • Stakeholder management expertise.

  • Proficient in risk management strategies.

  • Experience in internal or external auditing, preferably in the financial sector.

  • Problem-solving skills, coupled with effective communication and negotiation capabilities.

  • Intermediate English.
