We are looking for you to join our team as an Engineering Technician based out of San Diego, CA. As an Engineering Technician at Northrop Grumman you will have a challenging and rewarding opportunity to be a part of our Enterprise-wide digital transformation. Through the use of Model-based Engineering, Dev Sec Ops and Agile practices we continue to evolve how we deliver critical national defense products and capabilities for the warfighter. Responsibilities
- Performs a variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, or electromechanical areas
- Constructs, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, tests, and maintains equipment, components, devices, or systems
- Works from engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions
- Operates related equipment; conducts tests and reports data in prescribed format
- Performs calibration and alignment checks; makes adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed
- Performs lab operations duties that include, but are not limited to: ensuring lab equipment operability, ensuring test equipment calibration, and ensuring lab remains clean and well organized
- Performs systems, subsystems and structures testing primarily associated with aeronautical platforms
- Works with Lab Manager to plan sequence of operations, methods and organization of layout, fabrication and assembly of engineering test fixtures, holding devices and systems necessary to complete testing
- Works from schematics, engineering drawings, and written or verbal instructions
- Operates related equipment; conducts tests and reports data in prescribed format; uses predetermined methods, sequences, and setups to inspect or test specific equipment or product, making modifications and adjustments as necessary
- Performs calibration and alignment checks; makes adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed
Basic Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years additional education and/or related experience
- Experience should include: Test equipment maintenance, Cable repair, Inventory control, and Electrical/mechanical assembly and/or troubleshooting
- Expertise in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project)
- Clearance: Candidate must currently have and be able to maintain an active U.S. Government DOD Clearance, as well as be able to obtain a Special Access Programs (SAP/SAR) level clearance as a condition of continued employment
Preferred Qualifications
- Avionics experience
- CNI Experience
- Proficiency in using basic engineering test equipment (e.g., Oscilloscope, Spectrum Analyzer, Signal Generator, Logic Analyzer, Network Analyzer, Power Meter)
- Maintaining lab standards to company policy
- Coordination of repairs
Salary and Compensation
Primary Level Salary Range: $66,600.00 - $111,000.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
