**Northrop Grumman is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for an internship opportunity.**This position will be located at our Defense Systems Sector in Roy, UT.

The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Strategic Deterrent Systems Division (SDSD).

Responsibilities may include:

• Develops processes by studying requirements; research, design, modify, and test production/deployment methods and equipment• Collaborates with Design Engineering on design to ensure practical manufacturing and fabrication solutions
• Works with suppliers to develop manufacturing planning for successful preparation and execution of MRAs
• Researches and evaluates commercially available tools and equipment to support deployment activities
• Investigates root cause of discrepancies and implements corrective actions
• Troubleshoots existing processes to improve safety, quality, cost, and efficiency
• Develops and maintains detailed work and install instructions for assigned products/processes
• Educates/trains operators on new and existing processes
• Establishes and maintain a program project plan and schedule that is aligned with the program Integrated Master Schedule (IMS)
• Provides on-site engineering support during field installations
• Provides advanced technological ideas and Subject Matter Expertise (SME) to resolve technical questions and ensure compliance to the Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) Statement of Work (SOW) requirements
• Implements Lean practices to continually identify opportunities for improvement

Basic Qualifications:

A candidate must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:

• Be a student who is enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university and will be enrolled full time in Fall 2026.
• Be majoring in or having majored in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering
• Be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during summer 2026.
• Be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher (unofficial academic transcripts must be provided at time of application by uploading the documents to your application or profile)

Intern Pay Range:

Bachelors: $22.25 - $27.25 per hour

Masters: $32.00 to $33.75 per hour
