Nokia Technology Standards Research & Innovation works with internal and external experts to advance the state-of-the-art technology landscape for AI-native 6G radio systems.
We are looking for energetic and highly engaged summer interns to contribute to the development of AI and 6G, while getting a taste of work in one of the world's foremost standardization teams.
-
Bachelor's/Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., electrical engineering, information technology, computer science, mathematics, physics), or being in the process of completing such a Master's or PhD degree

Strong understanding of wireless communications, artificial intelligence and/or information theory
-
Demonstrated skills in programming (e.g. Matlab, Python) or data processing

Fluent English (both written and spoken)

Strong communication skills

Strong self-motivation

Contribute to the development of 6G by interpreting both real-world measurements and data from simulations to identify conditions under which 6G systems will need to be designed to perform well.

Evaluate and select potential techniques to improve the efficiency of 6G devices and networks by facilitating reliable predictions of performance in realistic environments.

Contribute to feasibility study of future frequency bands for 6G and Non-Terrestrial Networks (satellite Direct-to-Device), supporting Nokia’s advocacy in international standardisation forums, e.g. through coexistence studies and other thought leadership activities.

Contribute to the development of AI-driven workflows and data pipelines, exploring how emerging Agentic AI concepts can enhance the efficiency and automation of standards and operations.
