Lead Professional, Brand Creative, Retail Fixture & Layout Planning at Nike
About the role
Nike Brand Creative EMEA is looking for a highly agile Fixture Design and Layout planner. The Lead Fixture and Layout Designer will deliver world-class consumer zoning and fixture design that elevate Nike’s retail strategy across the EMEA marketplace. This role blends spatial design, consumer journey including services and experiences and elevated product experiences across all store formats. You will partner with Nike Direct, Operations, Digital, IT, Visual Merchandising (VM), and Business Channel (BC) leadership to translate global strategies into exceptional retail environments.
WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
As Lead, Brand Creative, Fixture and Layout Designer at Nike’s European Headquarters, you will be part of the Brand Creative team based in the Netherlands. You will report directly to the Layout & Fixture Design Director and work closely with designers, project managers, and cross-functional partners such as Visual Merchandisers, Planners, Store Construction, and Global Retail Design to develop stores consistently. Your role also involves working with external fixture vendors, design agencies, and architecture firms.
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We are seeking an agile, experienced retail designer with expertise in fixture design and consumer journey. You should be able to shift focus from an operational perspective, leveraging your knowledge of store operations to plan efficient back-of-house layouts, pay close attention to product deliveries, and understand our Nike Staff Athletes' journey to the sales floor. An understanding of consumer flow and services is essential. The principal fixture and layout designer should be able to translate Nike’s planning numbers—such as SKUs and revenue targets—to the sales floor by reviewing density and fixture configurations across different sport areas within the stores.
We need the Lead to review fixture design concepts from Global teams or teammates, then develop comprehensive design briefs for our vendors. This role requires knowledge of materials, spatial planning, joinery, weight considerations, and operational store requirements.
YOU’LL BRING

Bachelor or Masters's Degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture, Design or a related field (preferred).

Extensive experience creating retail fixtures design and layouts, ideally for a global brand.

Strong knowledge of design workflows and skilled at using software like Sketch Up, Enscape, Adobe Suite, Grasshopper, AutoCAD, After Effects, Twin Motion, and more. Able to sketch ideas and clearly present concepts for development.

Expertise in sustainable materials, spatial planning, and digital retail technologies.

Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, including leading meetings and delivering presentations. Skilled in presenting concepts and design intentions to senior creative leaders. Proficient with presentation and collaboration tools such as Keynote, Miro, and Slack.

WHAT YOU ‘LL WORK ON
As Lead Fixture and Layout Designer, you will drive strategy development for EMEA, working globally and independently to meet project goals and maintain brand standards. You'll manage fast-paced projects from start to finish, oversee store layout planning—including consumer navigation, service flow, and category zoning—and address special fixture needs as required. Key responsibilities include aligning store density with revenue goals, integrating visual merchandising with fixture strategies, and meeting operational, product movement, and athlete experience needs.
You will mentor Layout Planning teams, ensuring accuracy in zoning, service journeys, and fixture design. Presenting creative work, maintaining brand consistency, and introducing innovative solutions are critical. Ongoing tasks involve coordinating fixture design workflow, scheduling, manufacturing, and rollout processes; reviewing and approving shop drawings; and managing Nike’s technical drawing library and fixture documentation for new stores and renovations, ensuring full compliance with brand standards.
Effective communication is essential to align cross-functional teams and stakeholders, support design talent, and encourage innovation within the team.
