Job Summary
To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Technical Program Manager located in Austin, TX.
Reporting to the **Manager, NPI operations, Technical Program Management,**the Technical Program Manager will be responsible for one or more customer projects from the initial engagement on a board until the last prototype build has been completed. This responsibility covers all aspects of the efforts that result in the delivery of prototypes to the customer and will generally require normal project management skills to lead a cross-functional team and to meet or exceed customer expectations in terms of schedules, quality, and cost. Depending on the management expectations of the TPM, this may include customer interface, quoting, scheduling; in addition to the control of the technical portion of the builds..
What a typical day looks like:
- Evaluate Customer products for assembly requirements.
- Report DFM and DFT analysis and close with Customer on resolution of issues.
- Maintain communications with Customer on technical issues and modifications to build plans.
- PROACTIVELY resolve problems that could cause delays in meeting Customer schedule commits.
- Develop new processes to meet Customer needs.
- Be a driving force in ensuring that the transfer of information to the Production Engineering organization (at the production site) is complete, effective and timely.
- Report progress during the builds and final build reports to the Customer.
- Maintain an awareness of the in-process defects and customer found defects.
- Generate action plans to correct the process to eliminate defects.
- Ensure that the Customer is delighted with the service and support provided by the NPI team.
- Perform the technical part of the job to exceed customer expectations and achieve very high CSI ratings.
- Execute the role of team leader for all NPI build related activities.
The experience we’re looking to add to our team:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
- 5+ years of technical background in Contract Manufacture or OEM industry.
- Prior experience in program or project administration/management, with demonstrated ownership of end‑to‑end program execution and overall program health.
- Advanced operational, technical, and people/process management skills, with the ability to work cross‑functionally and build strong internal and external customer relationships in a customer‑facing environment.
- Expert understanding of multiple functional processes and technologies, including their interdependencies across the site.
- Strong execution and communication skills, ensuring on‑time delivery, clear stakeholder communication, and effective use of Microsoft Excel (intermediate level) for reporting and analysis.
