Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a System Engineer, Power Electronicsbased inFarmington Hills, MI.

Reporting to the Director, Design, Process and Technology Engineering. The System Engineer, Power Electronics will be creating technologies for the Automotive Market. Our power electronics portfolio includes Onboard Chargers, High-voltage and 48V DC/DC Converters, Traction Inverters, Battery management systems, etc.

Here is a glimpse of what you’ll do:

  • Work on North America Automotive Industry
  • Work in a supportive, stable, inventive team in a modern, high-quality and international environment.
  • Teamwork with design engineers globally and North America business units.
  • Provide technical expertise in OBC, HV DCDC Converters, and HV Inverters.
  • Represent Flex in power electronics engineering across North America.
  • Capture and negotiate power electronics requirements with North American customers.
  • Lead technical design reviews and review technical reports & presentations.
  • Serve as first responder to customer technical issues on power electronics projects. Collaborate with design team, customer and suppliers to issue resolution.
  • Provide engineering support for power electronics business development.
  • Project manage NA power electronics projects.
  • Coach the global team on compliance with North American regulations and enhance the local PE engineering capability.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

  • Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience and training. A master’s or PhD degree is preferred
  • 8+ years of industrial experience
  • Automotive experience - minimum 3 years in similar position is preferred
  • Solid knowledge base around power electronics systems, software, and circuits
  • Good communication skills with customers and internal partners
