Job Summary
To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Tool & Die Manager located in Orangeburg SC
Reporting to the Operations Manger the Tool & Die Manager will managing the Tool Room department and collaborate on projects with customers or internal colleagues, new tool development, improvement of manufacturing processes, and maintenance of production. Assure product quality by implementing testing methods, equipment, and tools.
What a typical day looks like:
- Management of new tooling requisitions from prototype or complex designs through mass production.
- Responsible for improvements, major repairs, and Engineering Change Notice to the molds.
- Maintaining and repairing stamping and welding tooling
- Implementation of preventive maintenance for production molds.
- Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements including but not limited to researching, designing, modifying, testing manufacturing methods and equipment.
- Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing tooling and process.
- Implementation of quality and safety improvements in training for tool room team.
- CNC Tool Room Machinery Programing, read mold design and improvements, ability to apply common sense and to analyze and solve tooling problems, ability to deal with customers and to lead a group.
- Generation and implementation of cost reduction ideas.
The experience we’re looking to add to our team:
- BA/BS/MBA or equivalent work experience
- 6 years of Mold Design/or Tool Room activities.
- Experience Managing Operations & Engineering in Electronic Manufacturing
- Expert background in Tooling Engineering
- Tooling Maintenance, repair, jig and fixture development experience
- Proficiency in using design software tools, Solid Works, AutoCAD, NX
- Experience in Hard Tool Stamping
- Experience with Large Mechanical Presses
- Laser and Hydraulic press brake experience preferred.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and depth perception.
