Job Summary

We are building the next generation of data security for the AI and hybrid cloud era.

As enterprises adopt AI and manage data across on-prem and public cloud environments, understanding and protecting sensitive data has become one of the most critical challenges in technology. The Data Security Platform team within Net App is solving this problem at scale—combining cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, and intelligent automation into a unified product used by global enterprises.

This team operates at the intersection of engineering, strategy, and customer impact. You will gain exposure to real enterprise systems, collaborate directly with engineers and designers, and see how technical decisions translate into business outcomes.
For students interested in product management, this is an opportunity to work on meaningful problems that sit at the core of modern data and AI infrastructure.

The Opportunity:

This is a hands-on product internship for someone curious about security, AI, cloud, or enterprise software. You will work directly with a senior product leader and cross-functional teams (engineering, UX, and security) to design and ship a small but meaningful feature within the Data Security Platform.
You won’t just “shadow.” You’ll own a scoped initiative and help take it from concept to implementation.

What You’ll Work On (Example Summer Project)
During the internship, you will own a clearly defined feature within the Data Security Platform. Example areas may include:

  • Identifying a customer pain point and proposing a clear, structured solution
  • Improving a user workflow to make it simpler or more intuitive
  • Analyzing product usage data to uncover insights and recommend improvements
  • Conducting research on market trends or competitive offerings
  • Defining requirements for a small enhancement or new capability

By the end of the summer, you will:

  • Deliver a written product brief (problem, user, solution, metrics)
  • Create wireframes or mockups
  • Partner with engineering to define scope
  • Present your work to leadership

Job Requirements

  • Strong curiosity about security, AI, cloud, or enterprise technology
  • Analytical mindset and comfort working with data
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to structure ideas and think through tradeoffs
  • Bonus: prior coursework or projects in cybersecurity, cloud, AI, or software development

Education

Must be enrolled in an educational or professional program through summer 2026 or later, preferrably looking for a freshman or sophomore pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field

Compensation:

Final compensation packages are competitive and in line with industry standards, reflecting a variety of factors, and include a comprehensive benefits package. Benefits may vary by country and region, and further details will be provided as part of the recruitment process.

At Net App, we embrace a hybrid working environment designed to strengthen connection, collaboration, and culture for all employees. This means that most roles will have some level of in-office and/or in-person expectations, which will be shared during the recruitment process.
