Position Overview:
The Forklift Operator plays a critical role in warehouse and production operations by safely and efficiently loading/unloading materials, transporting inventory, and supporting overall workflow. This position ensures accurate inventory rotation, proper storage practices, and adherence to safety standards while maintaining smooth and efficient warehouse operations.
Compensation:
- $23.21/hr
- $0.75/hr for 2nd shift differiental
- Overtime as need
- Quarterly Bonus Structure
Shift Details
- 2nd shift Opening
- 12:30PM to 9:00PM - Monday through Friday
- Overtime will be available
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate FEFO (First Expiration, First Out) staging to ensure proper rotation of all expiration‑dated materials.
- Read and interpret production schedules, customer orders, and work orders to determine material movement needs.
- Transport and distribute materials from receiving or production to designated storage locations.
- Sort and organize materials based on size, type, or product code.
- Support proper inventory management, including perishable goods storage and accurate staging.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, reporting unsafe conditions or damage immediately.
- Contribute to quality and efficiency improvements within the warehouse environment.
Required Experience:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum 2 years of stand‑up forklift experience.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Forklift certification from Nation Pizza and Foods required within 48 hours of employment.
- Preferred: Prior stand‑up forklift experience, barcoding knowledge, and experience with automated data collection systems.
- Ability to work overtime, irregular schedules, or rotating shifts.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Basic math skills, ability to perform simple statistical calculations, and proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
Physical Demands
- Frequent use of hands for handling materials, tools, and equipment.
- Occasional sitting; reaching; climbing; balancing; stooping; kneeling; crouching; crawling; or smelling.
- Ability to lift and/or move over 50 pounds occasionally.
- Vision requirements include close, distance, and color vision, plus depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
- Moderate noise levels are typical of warehouse settings.
- Occasional exposure to airborne particles.
- Exposure to extreme temperatures ranging from below 0°F to above 90°F depending on work area.
The approximate pay for this position is $23.21. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
