Operations Technology

Operations Technology develops and maintains systems in support of Morgan Stanley's global Operations , including (but not limited to) Settlements, Confirmations, Regulatory Reporting, Position Keeping, Corporate Actions processing and other post-trade functions. Operations Technology is a global organization that is client-focused and functionally aligned. Our organization is built to support our clients functional, regional and business-facing requirements while delivering innovative technology and ensuring plant and processing stability. The Firm operates at scale with up to 40 million trades processed on peak volume days and hundreds of billions of dollars of daily settlements with activity ongoing in multiple countries and currencies across the globe. There is a great breadth of financial products that our Operations plant handles across equity and fixed income, from cash products to complex derivatives and loans.

Software Engineering

This is a Director position that develops and maintains software solutions that support business needs.

What you’ll do in the role:

We are looking for a skilled Python & Machine Learning Developer to build scalable data-driven solutions and enhance existing applications within our technology ecosystem. The ideal candidate brings strong hands on experience in Python, core ML algorithms, data processing libraries, and CI CD workflows. You will own development tasks end to end from requirement analysis to production deployment-while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve issues in existing Python code and ML workflows.
Develop clean, efficient, and maintainable Python code for new and existing applications.
Own assigned tasks end to end: requirement gathering, design, implementation, testing, and production rollout.
Build, tune, and evaluate ML models (supervised, unsupervised, classification, clustering).
Collaborate across teams and contribute throughout the SDLC documentation, deployment, and ongoing support.
Work with Autosys, Git GitHub, CI CD pipelines, Unix systems, and SQL databases as part of daily development.

What you’ll bring to the role:

Mandatory Skills:

• Strong Python development experience (debugging and writing optimized code)

• Supervised & Unsupervised ML, Classification models, K Means clustering

• Model evaluation & performance tuning

• Num Py, Pandas, Sci Py, scikit learn, Matplotlib

• Autosys, Git, GitHub, CI CD (Jenkins)

• Unix/Linux commands, SQL

Good to Have:

• Snowflake

• Java Perl

• Angular

• Azure Cloud

• GenAI tools (e.g., Copilot)
