We’re seeking someone to join our team as an Associate in FSL Operations supporting Morgan Stanley's FID Secured Lending (FSL) Business. The position supports Subscription Finance and Broadly Syndicated Loans and CLOs for institutional business units, with responsibility for end-to-end loan lifecycle activities. The role involves managing daily loan processing under tight deadlines, including cash reconciliation, deal closing support, and front to back operational coverage across settlement, servicing, and reconciliation/analytics functions.

In the Operations division, we partner with business units across the Firm to support financial transactions, devise and implement effective controls and develop client relationships. This is an Associate level position level position within Product Support & Services, which is responsible for providing transaction support and managing post execution processes.

What you’ll do in the role:

  • Execute processes/functions and/or support process management and project efforts, leveraging knowledge of the systems, markets and instruments that influence the team

  • Recognize risk in day-to-day processes to draw out the key issues and contribute to process improvements

  • Build relationships within team and internal stakeholders, sharing knowledge to contribute to team output

  • Participate in projects and initiatives, aiding in solution formulation with a focus on timely execution

  • Review of relevant credit and closing documentation to build out loan facilities in internal booking systems

  • Daily loan servicing including borrowing/funding requests, settlement/paydown processing

  • Collateral review and management: load and review of daily custodial reports; coordinate with external document custodian on exceptions. Execution of collateral releases for the shipment of loan documents to investors purchasing loans off the warehouse line.

  • Borrowing base management: monitoring warehouse line expiration dates, advance limits and deficiencies; coordinate with client and Business Unit as needed. Where applicable, coordinate with Credit and Business Unit on temporary exceptions

  • Daily review of exception/break reports and taking appropriate actions to resolve

  • Preparation and distribution of periodic interest & fees invoices

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • Ability to establish clear goals and priorities, and address non-standard issues within area of expertise with minimal guidance and supervision

  • Subject matter expertise in business area supported, client requirements, and ability to ensure control is not compromised to comply with client requests

  • Culture carrier across Operations, embracing the Firm's core values

  • Knowledge of the secondary mortgage market, including involvement of government-sponsored enterprises (i.e. Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae)

  • Knowledge of Loan IQ is a plus

  • At least 2 years’ relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role

Salary range for the position: $65,000 - $83,000 Yr. The successful candidate may be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive compensation award. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
