A philosophy that balances personal lifestyles, perspectives and needs is an important part of our culture.Outsourced Chief Investment Officer (“OCIO”) group partners with Morgan Stanley Financial Advisors across all channels to offer full discretion portfolio management services to institutional and private clients (e.g., Defined Benefit plans, Endowments, Foundations, Ultra-High Net-Worth, Family Offices, etc.) of Morgan Stanley Wealth Management.We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Institutional Product Manager to join our OCIO (Outsourced Chief Investment Officer) Investment Team. The ideal candidate will possess strong stakeholder and project management skills, with a proven track record in the institutional investment marketplace. This role requires a deep understanding of various institutional investment products and the ability to navigate complex processes involving investment due diligence, product structuring, and cataloguing.The successful candidate will work closely with manager research, legal, risk, compliance, and wealth management product teams to ensure the successful delivery of investment solutions.Key Responsibilities:Stakeholder and Project ManagementLead and manage multi-stage processes, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholdersCoordinate with manager research, legal, risk, compliance, and wealth management product teams to align on product development and implementation strategiesDevelop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to facilitate smooth project execution and deliveryManagement & LeadershipDemonstrate strong leadership and team management skillsManage a due diligence team focused on institutional investment researchInvestment Due Diligence and Product StructuringConduct initial investment due diligence to assess the viability and potential of various institutional investment productsStructure and define accessible institutional investment products, including Collective Investment Trusts (CITs), Separate Accounts, Limited Partnerships (LPs), and custom accounts to meet institutional client needsEnsure all institutional products are catalogued accurately and updated regularly to reflect changes in the product details including dealing terms, fees, minimums, etc.Ongoing Diligence and MonitoringEnsure formal oversight on ongoing investment and operational diligence and monitoring of approved institutional product offeringsProvide regular, detailed reporting of qualitative and quantitative analysis for approved institutional productsNegotiation and CoordinationNegotiate terms and conditions of institutional investment products in coordination with legal, risk, and compliance teamsEnsure all agreements and contracts are compliant with legal and regulatory standards through collaboration with operations and risk partnersMarket and Product KnowledgeDemonstrate broad product knowledge across various investment types, including CITs, Separate Accounts, and LPsStay informed about market trends and developments to provide insights and recommendations for product innovation and enhancementDatabase and Tool UtilizationUtilize investment manager databases and tools such as eVestment and Morningstar to support product sourcing and decision-making processesAnalyze data to identify opportunities for product enhancements/expansionWork with stakeholders to enhance product database and user experienceQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. An advanced degree or relevant professional certification (e.g., CFA, CAIA) is preferredMinimum of 10+ years of experience in the institutional investment marketplace, with a focus on product management and developmentDemonstrated experience in an investment due diligence function across multiple asset classes is preferredStrong understanding of institutional investment products, including CITs, Separate Accounts, and LPsProven experience in stakeholder and project management, with the ability to lead complex projects and manage multiple prioritiesExcellent negotiation skills and experience working with legal, risk, and compliance teamsProficiency in using investment manager databases and tools such as eVestment and MorningstarStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisionsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholdersProactive and hard working with strong professional accountabilityExemplary verbal and written communication skillsStrong analytical and/or quantitative skillsMust be very detail-oriented with an ability to multi-taskFINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses required or willingness to obtain within 120 days of hireWHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM MORGAN STANLEY: At Morgan Stanley, we raise, manage and allocate capital for our clients – helping them reach their goals.
