This position is an essential part of the Boise Fab Operations Finance team, mainly responsible for product cost modeling to support manufacturing at Micron’s Boise front-end fabrication facility. The role supports start-up, ramp, and steady-state fab operations and is encouraged to grow in scope and influence as the manufacturing footprint and complexities expand.

As a Senior Financial Analyst II in product costing, you will partner with Manufacturing Operations, Central Operations Finance, Global Cost & Inventory Accounting, and FP&A, to establish and uphold Micron’s product costing processes and systems. You will also analyze variances between actual and standard costs to assist in improving the financial performance of the fabrication facility and controlling expenses.

Responsibilities

  • Own and maintain standard costing models for products manufactured in the Idaho fab.

  • Use iECS (Impact Enterprise Costing System) and Excel‑based models to calculate, analyze, and validate standard costs, explain cost and volume drivers, and recommend corrective actions.

  • Support monthly and quarterly cost updates, including standard cost roll‑forwards, spending and volume assumption updates.

  • Provide scenario modeling, financial analysis, and forecasting of fab manufacturing activities and the impact on fab financial metrics.

  • Work alongside Finance Operations at our worldwide manufacturing locations to introduce standard costing and additional finance processes, systems, and procedures at the Boise fab.

  • Function as a subject-matter expert for iECS and standard costing processes and support other team members through training or mentoring as required.

  • Deliver financial and operational data to the Corporate and Global Front-End Finance teams to incorporate into a global model for financial analysis. Develop operating scenarios from Corporate and Global Front-End Finance teams.

  • Coordinate and maintain cost center updates within finance systems to ensure accurate reporting and approval flows.

  • Actively seek to bring to bear AI-assisted solutions to streamline repetitive tasks, improve data accuracy, and accelerate reporting cycles.

  • Stay current with AI and technology trends relevant to Finance and proactively propose use cases for the team.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5 years of pertinent professional experience along with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Management.

  • Working knowledge of standard manufacturing cost accounting principles, supported by advanced Excel modeling capabilities, including complex formulas, scenario and sensitivity analysis, and large data sets.

  • Ability to translate manufacturing data into clear financial insights, recommendations, and action plans.

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail and data integrity.

  • Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, ambiguous manufacturing environment with evolving processes.

  • Strong systems and data management skills.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build solid interpersonal relationships based on mutual trust and influence across functional boundaries.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Applicable professional experience in semiconductor, electronics, or other advanced technology sectors.

  • Demonstrated experience in standard costing in a manufacturing environment.

  • Experience using costing systems (iECS, SAP, Oracle, Siemens, etc.).

  • Familiarity with standard costing reporting system such as iECS or an equivalent system.

  • Experience applying AI to streamline processes, automate repetitive tasks, and improve data accuracy.

  • Ambitious and intellectually curious, with a high energy level, growth mindset, and passion for identifying and implementing improvements in execution.
