Job summary

As a SMT Engineer within Micron’s Advanced Package Technology Development team, you will play a key role in driving innovation through strategic, industry‑informed leadership. You will shape advanced packaging technology roadmaps and enable the technology. Working in a highly collaborative, dynamic environment, you will influence solutions aligned with Micron’s business objectives, contributing directly to increased revenue, long‑term strategic success, and the development of leading‑edge packaging technologies.

Key responsibilities and duties include:

  • Understand the impact and implications of APTD strategy to the overall company strategy and direction
  • Demonstrate understanding of technology complexity and effective technology decision making
  • Deliver high-value, differentiated technology solutions by finding opportunities and driving technical innovation to provide business value.
  • Collaborate continuously with internal and external partners to ensure seamless technology integration.
  • Consult and influence technical and strategic decisions at senior management levels.
  • Analyze and understand competitive trends to improve Micron’s competitive edge.
  • Guide the development of packaging technology roadmaps.
  • Assess competitive metrics through data intelligence for strategic advantage.
  • Define requirements with proven technical data and content..
  • Innovate continuously through patents, trade secrets, technical presentations, and papers, leading to build wins and quality improvements.
  • Make decisions that directly impact the achievement of work unit and sub-function objectives
  • Work effectively with peers in other department to develop and drive multi-functional initiatives
  • Ensure accuracy, quality, and timeliness of results

Minimum Qualifications

  • PhD/Masters/Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical & Electronic, Material, Mechanical Engineering, Physics & Applied Physics or Equivalent Work Experience Required
  • 10 years' and/or above experience in semiconductor industry, preferably in R&D or technology development or failure analysis field, with strong expertise in failure analysis methodologies and techniques.
  • Experience in DRAM technology
  • Experience in Frontend fab Process integration or Module process
  • Understanding of silicon integration and how it interacts at backend process & package level through CPI
  • Proficiency with simulation tools and data analytics platforms for performance analysis and optimization
  • Technical journals or patents being published internally/ externally
  • Strong project management skills to ensure execution to timelines
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Understanding of business needs and customers’ requirement
  • Ability to integrate & cooperate with people from cross function teams
