CVD Equipment Productivity Improvement:

Project Description:This project focuses on identifying, analysing, and implementing productivity improvement opportunities related to Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) equipment within a semiconductor manufacturing environment. The intern will study existing equipment-related workflows and processes, apply structured problem-solving methodologies, and propose improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing technician productivity. The project emphasises data-driven analysis and engineering-based solutions to achieve measurable productivity gains.

Objective of the Project:Quantify and achieve productivity improvements measured in man-hours saved per week through the development and implementation of engineering solutions related to CVD equipment processes.

Project Scope:

• Analyse current CVD equipment-related workflows and productivity drivers
• Identify opportunities for process, tooling, or system improvements
• Design and develop jigs, tools, or simple systems to enhance technician efficiency
• Validate improvement concepts through data collection and analysis
• Present findings, recommendations, and quantified productivity impact

Learning Opportunities:

• Exposure to semiconductor manufacturing operations and equipment engineering
• Application of industrial engineering and productivity improvement methodologies
• Hands-on experience in engineering solution development and validation
• Data analysis and presentation of quantified business impact

Deliverable:

• Demonstrate a minimum of 5 man-hours per week productivity savings through validated improvement initiatives
• Final presentation summarising analysis, solutions developed, and achieved impact

Skillset Required:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• High level of initiative and learning agility
• Ability to work independently in a structured engineering environment
